Is God your God?

I just heard a song by Donald Lawrence and the Tri City Mass Choir today. This song has really impacted me.Can't stop listening to it.The words speak to the very depth of my soul and resonate with my entire being.I will upload a link to the mp3 once I am able to.Read the lyrics of the song and meditate on it.You may be going through a difficult situation right now, this is the time to make God your God.He is the only wise God and is more than able to bring you through it. "He will hold it together until you get it together"

Verse 1:
Oh Thou who knowest my beginning,
Thou who created the plan,
who orchestrated my life's journey;
God, You are my God.

Verse 2:
God of decisions, Creator of answers,
Thou who ordained my way,
through my transition, held my position;
God, You are my God.

Chorus 1:
I will forever give You praise,
honor and celebrate Your name,
God of the past, present, and Who is to come;
oh (God, You are my God).

(I will) forever give You praise,
(honor and) celebrate Your name,
(God of the) past, present,
and Who is to come,
Who is to come...

Bridge:
Whatever You do with (me) it's alright,
(You have my total trust), You have my trust.
(Glory and) honor, (dominion and) power;
(God, You are my God).

(God, You are my God).

God, You are my God.

Keep on Standing

Keep On Standing
Lyrics by: Michel Lwamba/Aliston Lwamba
Music by: Fabian Lwamba
Group: KRYSTAAL
VERSE 1:Don't you worry, the wind may blow sometimes
Don't be scared, the world may shake
The bombs may drop, the buildings may be destroyed
Life may be lost and nights may be long
And you've got nothing left to do about it
Just keep on standing 'cause help is on the way

CHORUS:
You'd rather keep on standing
Even when the rocky mountains will be shaken
You'd rather keep on waiting
Even if it takes so long
You'd rather keep on prayingThan to give up and cry
'Cause help is on the way

VERSE 2:
Just remember we are strongIn the Lord, not in ourselves
Temptation is the only way that will prove your faith
Let the wind blow, let the rain fall
Let it snow, don't you run away
Don't you be afraid
You've got to know where the valley is
Before you hit the mountain top

CHORUS

BRIDGE:
When the world is against you
The Lord said He's gonna be by your side
Take courage and give Him your hand
Every is gonna be alright

CHORUS

I Surrender ALL

Over the past week, the hymn " I surrender all" has been playing over and over in my head. It could be called the anthem of "altar calls" at church. However, something said to me , there is more to this song that regular altar calls. I gave it some thought and pondered on the words of the hymn. This hymn is so powerful in that it speaks of giving your ALL to God. Surrendering every you have to God, your hopes, plans, dreams, fears, your life , your all. I went a step further and searched for the history of this great hymn.
I SURRENDER ALL"

Words: Judson W. Van DeVenter, 1896:

"The song was written while I was conducting a meeting at East
Palestine, Ohio, in the home of George Sebring (founder of the
Sebring Campmeeting Bible Conference in Sebring, Ohio, and later
developer of the town of Sebring, Florida). For some time, I had
struggled between developing my talents in the field of art and going
into full-time evangelistic work. At last the pivotal hour of my life
came, and I surrendered all. A new day was ushered into my life. I
became an evangelist and discovered down deep in my soul a talent
hitherto unknown to me. God had hidden a song in my heart, and
touching a tender chord, He caused me to sing."

1. All to Jesus I surrender;
all to him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust him,
in his presence daily live.

Refrain:
I surrender all, I surrender all,
all to thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.

2. All to Jesus I surrender;
humbly at his feet I bow,
worldly pleasures all forsaken;
take me, Jesus, take me now.

3. All to Jesus I surrender;
make me, Savior, wholly thine;
fill me with thy love and power;
truly know that thou art mine.

4. All to Jesus I surrender;
Lord, I give myself to thee;
fill me with thy love and power;
let thy blessing fall on me.

5. All to Jesus I surrender;
now I feel the sacred flame.
O the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory, to his name!

Are there areas of your life you are still holding back, trying to figure it out all on your own? Struggling with a load that is too heavy for you to bear? Trying to map out the journey of your life on your own? I charge you as I do myself to surrender all to him. Keep giving it all up to him till you get to a point where you totally and truly trust him with your all. At that point, you can sing that song with confidence, knowing that you truly have surrendered all to him.

Christmas

Christmas is a time when we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
We remember God's love and affection for mankind in sending his only begotten son to die for our sins and restore man to God.
Christmas is a time when people give gifts, both young and old. People give and also expect to receive gifts. This act of giving is a symbol of God's act of love in that he GAVE. However, many have forgotten the reason for the season. Christmas season has been commercialized into retail season. People buy, buy, buy and buy till they can buy no more. Many don't have a clue of the significance of gift giving. We often get carried away by the hustle and bustle of the season(eating, drinking and partying) forgetting the original message of Christmas. What then is the message of Christmas? Christ was born to reconcile man to God, restore the glory of man and remind us of the pure love God has for us. Love so sweet,so divine.
Lets take a moment to reflect on the message of the Christmas.
Is it real in your life? Have you recieved Christ as your saviour? Have you been reconciled and restored?

Blessed Be the name of the Lord

One of my favorite songs...
Blessed Be The Name

I am standing beneath Your wings
I am resting in Your shelter
Your great faithfulness has been my shield
It makes me want to sing

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be the name of the Lord
I will bless Your holy name
For all my days
Blessed be the name of the Lord

I sing praises to Your name oh Lord
For You daily bear my burden
Your great faithfulness is my reward
It makes me want to sing

"Comprehensive Eye Exam"

Okay now, I am overdue for an eye exam. They recommend you do it every year but I haven't been to an optometrist in 2 years. My optometrist called me to remind me for my annual exam long time ago and I did not get around doing it.
My eyes started giving trouble a few weeks back so I was like.. lemme go check dem out. I called my optometrist but was told she relocated and left all her files with the person who bought out her practice. I was like ok, Can I book an appointment? The nice lady I spoke to said, Yes, of course. She got me a time slot and I felt happy. I now remembered that if you are between the ages of 18-65, you go pay for your own eye exam. We never paid for them before as my provincial insurance plan covered it. Anyways sha, so I now called the optometrist back asap cos I needed to know how much they were charging(IJEBU???) She said 80 bucks. I was like.. um, thanks. I will call you back to confirm my appointment. I started shopping around and found one for 64. While shopping around, the range I got was between 64- 105 bucks. I mean common, why would I in my right senses go and pay so much more for the same exam. Privatization is good sometimes but for basic health care, I think it should be regulated. On the other hand, I guess people like me will go for good quality for less money. What do ya think?

"God don't make no junk"

Everytime I go to work, I pass by a receptionist and right by her desk, there is a picture posted on the wall with a little boy looking sad. The caption on the picture says, " I know I am somebody because God don't make no junk"
Those words jump out at me every single time I read them.
It makes me wonder why there is a picture of a sad looking boy with those words.
It is amazing how different people interprete differently things in different ways.Personally,if I am saying " God don't make no junk; I probably will be smiling, walking with a little bounce in my steps and with my head up high.
Just a thot.

And oh, a friendly reminder...."You are somebody, because God don't make NO junk"

You must pay attention to its power. Its power can be used to produce, build and advance. But its power can destroy, demolish, and take life. We cannot approach God in a haphazard way. "
